FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Below you will find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.
If you would like to know more, please give us a call.

Do you accept health insurance?
Well Beyond is an insurance-free practice. This gives us the greatest liberty to choose your best path to health, without the red tape and restrictions of the insurance companies. There are no hidden cost surprises. This allows us to maintain cost transparency and base your treatments on your unique needs, not what the insurance company “approves”. Your provider will be spending much more time with you and researching your unique case, using advanced testing and special knowledge to interpret. Typically, insurance only reimburses for a medical visit that lasts about 15 minutes.

Will you give me a Super Bill?
At your request, we are able to provide you with a super bill “receipt” that contains CPT medical codes. You may then submit this to your insurance company for reimbursement toward your deductible or health-savings (HSA/Flex) account. You can usually expect at least partial coverage for our services, but this is at the discretion of your insurance company. Most labs will be covered by your insurance, or there are significant cash discounts when we contract directly with functional lab companies. We are not able to submit forms to your insurance company.

How much does it cost?
We consider functional medicine an investment, versus an expense. Working to transform your health and lifestyle for the long term will continue to reward you. It is much more expensive to repeat work-ups and continue on life-long medications. Insurance can be used toward functional labs. We require a $175 non-refundable booking fee for new patient appointments that will be applied to the first appointment fee. We will discuss our visit prices during your free Discovery Call.
Can you be my Primary Care Provider?
We are Functional Medicine specialists, often times serving as a second opinion for patients when medications and other avenues have failed. We do request that you maintain a Primary Care Provider (PCP) for routine screenings and yearly exams, as we do not order these. We are happy to communicate with your PCP regarding your care. If you have an urgent medical need, we ask that you contact your PCP.

Who are your patients?
We treat patients with a wide range of chronic health problems, from digestive disorders, to chronic infections, to autoimmune disease, to hypothyroidism. Patients who do best under our care:
-
Don’t want to rely on unnecessary drugs and medical intervention for the rest of their lives
-
Are interested in discovering the underlying cause of their problems, rather than just suppressing symptoms
-
Are motivated to play an active role in their own healing process
-
Are willing to make the necessary dietary and lifestyle changes to support health and well-being
Do you see Medicare Patients?
Yes, Melissa Aberle does see Medicare patients. However, she has opted out of Medicare and her services are not covered under Medicare reimbursement. Cathy Wilson does not see Medicare patients.

How do I book an appointment?
Click on the Discovery Call tab at the top of the page. Schedule a convenient time for us to call you and together we will determine if we are a good match. If we decide to work together, a member of our office staff will book your appointment. You will receive email appointment reminders and receive intake forms via email to be completed prior to your initial visit.
